is it possible to get implantation bleeding 3 dpoSleep Forum - Questions & AnswersTTC and possible implantation bleeding?Question: Hi, my husband an I have been TTC our second child for about 5 months now. I have this online ovulation calender/tracker that i joined to help me keep track of my ovulation and such...My periods have never been regular till the last 3 months, coming on time when expected, I have a 27 day cycle.( i just moved to Texas and i don't know any women, this could be the reason my period are regular now, cause when you are hanging out with other women its said that your periods start to come at the same time as your friend) i had my period on the 23 of sept, it lasted 4 -5 days. I was suppose to ovulate on the 6th of Oct, so on the 5th i got what is called my cervical mucus, which comes before ovulation, we had sex on the 5th, the next day i felt a mild cramping and I believe i ovulated as expected. I alwasy crap when I ovulate! its been 12 DPO and its 2 days before my exspected period, and I started having mild cramping this afternoon, and I thought i was getting my period early, but when i wiped it was light red/pink bllod, not a whole lot, and so i placed a tapon in and went on my way. I got home and when i took the tampon out, it had brown discharge on it. this is nothing like my period, im a heavy bleeder when i start my period, Instead of placing another tampon in i just put a panty liner on, and its been 4 hours and no blood is on the panty liner, but if i take and sorta place a bit tissue paper inside i get a lil pink blood. is it posi9ble that this is implantation bleeding, 2 days before my period? I never had this with my first child. I have had 2 pregnancies and never had this with either.. I have read other sites with forums where woman have had this exact thing happen, and they where pregnant!Answer: Implantation occurs on a microscopic level, so the amount of endometrium that is displaced is at most only a few cells. That's not enough blood to really even notice, and most women never do. The amount of blood you are describing sounds much like the start of your period. Brown blood is old blood, and also the look of endometrium that hasn't been exposed to air- such as you would see on a tampon. The period actually starts a day or so before you notice it outside, although you can get the pink tinge discharge in some cases. The tampon you used simply absorbed all that early bleeding, which is why you haven't seen much since, unless you go targeting the spot. Now that doesn't mean you are not pregnant at the moment. You can be pregnant and have a slight discharge or bleeding at the time of the next expected period. My best suggestion would be to take it easy for the next few days and see what happens. If you don't get a full period start by the time you expect, you could try doing a HPT. Just be patient and don't get excited if you can help it. Beginnings are delicate times, and a lot can and does happen. At this point unfortunately all you can do is wait and see. ![]() Implantation Bleeding 5 dpo?Question: So I'm new to this TTC thing... with my daughter we did not TTC (were actually preventing it) and so I did not plan or notice things such as implantation bleeding. I have been tracking my cycles the last 3 months (average length 27 days) and I just got my IUD taken out on the 5th of this month had a period come on the 7th (just as planned) and so I should have ovulated around the 20th... we had sex on the 17, 18, 20, and 21st of this month and then today I noticed some slight spotting.. Its not even really spotting its more of a brownish mucusy discharge (TMI sorry) Because I'm only 5dpo (estimated of course) is it possible for this to be implantation bleeding? I'm just worried its my period coming early... This is our first month of TTC.. and just FYI my next period isn't supposed to come until the 3rd of Feb so thats like 9 more days... is this too early for implantation bleeding?Answer: It could be an implantation bleeding but its hard to say... The best way to find out if you are pregnant is to wait until your missed period and take HPT with your early morning urine. I am sending baby dust your way:) ![]() |
